B & V Water starts UK water research project

B & V Water Treatment has started a research project to reduce water waste and improve water use efficiency to mitigate potable water scarcity in the UK.

The situation is expected to worsen as the number of households in England and Wales are estimated to grow by 4.4 million by 2016.

The research is part of a series of innovative initiatives being undertaken by the firm.

B & V Water Treatment environmental chemist Yolla McCoy said that freshwater systems throughout the world are directly affected by human activities, which are putting pressure on water quality and availability.

“With serious limitations to available water resources there is a need to investigate all possibilities to reduce water wastage and improve water–use efficiency,” said McCoy.
