Software Enhances LADWP Water Management

The recycling division of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) said it is setting up new software that will help it carry out difficult hydraulic analysis, including fire-flow simulations and advanced water quality computations.

The department said the MWH Soft InfoWater Suite will help it meet predicted water demand of about 123 million cubic metres per year by 2030, by encouraging conservation and recycling.

Water from the division is used for irrigation, industrial processes and environmental roles, which includes a seawater intrusion barrier.

The software is compatible with the latest generation of ArcGIS and operates as an advanced water network modelling solution.

The software uses rich presentation tools native to the ArcGIS environment to display the results and eliminate the need for data synchronisation, synching schemes or middlelink interfaces.

LADWP focuses on supplying reliable and safe water and power to business and residents in Los Angeles.
