Thames Water Awards Contract to Black & Veatch

UK water and sewerage firm Thames Water has awarded a contract to Black & Veatch to improve and maintain its sewage and water treatment plants in the Thames Valley region over the next five years.

The £100m ($151.7m) contract is the final base load contract to keep water pipes, sewers and other facilities across London and the Thames Valley in good order.

J Murphy & Sons, Clancy Docwra, Barhale and MWH were awarded a contract in April for north London and Thames Valley water pipes and sewers.

Morrison Utility Services and Galliford Try received the order for south London water pipes and sewers while Galliford Try, Biwater and Mott MacDonald will work on north and south London water and sewage treatment works.

The work will involve replacing London’s worn-out Victorian water mains, upgrading sewers, improving water and sewage treatment works and extending water and sewerage networks.
