Vietnam Constructs Nghe An Reservoir

Vietnam is constructing a VND4.4trn ($234m) reservoir in the central Nghe An Province’s Quy Hop district.

The project, which has a capacity of 235,000m³ per day, will irrigate more than 26,000ha of arable land in the districts of Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Tan Ky, Anh Son and Thai Hoa.

It will also prevent lowland flooding and provide water to households in the Hieu River area, according to vietnamnews.vnagency.com.vn.

The irrigation project is part of Nghe An Province’s socio-economic development programme and will be built over the next five years.

Out of the VND4.4trn ($234m) investment, VND3.8trn ($200m) will be granted through government bonds while the remaining amount will be funded by the Agriculture & Irrigation Mechanization and Electrification Corporation (AGRIMECO).
