US County to Invest in $80m Water Project

The Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority in the US will rehabilitate part of Hugh A Wyckoff Water Treatment Plant to ensure future water supplies in the region.

The $80m project will upgrade and equip the 1960-built plant with a new treatment process.

The new treatment process will meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s requirements, which come into effect in 2012, and the recommendations of Georgia Environmental Protection Division, according to atlanta.bizjournals.com

The plant has a capacity of 72 million gallons per day.

The Wyckoff plant rehabilitation, the biggest infrastructure project of the Georgian county, was awarded to Atlanta-based Archer Western Contractors.
