New York City Completes Wastewater Treatment Plant

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection in the US has completed construction of a $12m wastewater treatment plant.

The project involved the construction of a 7,398foot² wastewater treatment plant, a new pumping station and 3.5 miles of sewer mains to replace existing septic systems.

The plant will be able to treat up to 75,000gal of wastewater a day.

The project has been funded by the New York City Department of Environment Protection and managed by Catskill Watershed Corporation.
