Brazilian State Floats Water Contract

The state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has floated a BRL24.8m ($14m) contract to undertake maintenance work on its drinking water and sewage systems.

The project will ensure that drinking water systems work properly and includes replacing pavements where necessary, according to waterworld.com.

Brazil’s national water agency currently serves a population of more than nine million people, with sewerage collection coverage reaching more than five million.

Tenders must be submitted by 25 August.
