Hungarian City Commissions Water Treatment Plant

Budapest, Hungary, has commissioned a €430m ($567m) wastewater treatment plant.

The new facility provides full biological wastewater treatment and processes 50% of the city’s sewage.

The European Union funded 65% of the project’s investment, while the Hungarian Government contributed 20% and the remaining was provided by Budapest City Council.

An additional €62m ($81m) is to be invested in the plant by the end of the year to expand the system, according to budapestreport.com.
