Welsh Water to Invest in Treatment Projects

Welsh Water is to invest £200m ($317m) to upgrade water treatment plants across Wales, UK, by 2015.

The investment includes a new treatment facility at Cwellyn, which will clarify the water before it enters the existing treatment facility to deal with changing raw-water conditions and meet water quality standards.

The facility was designed and built by Black & Veatch, one of Welsh Water’s Asset Management Alliance partners, for water supply capital investment plans.

On completion of the project the upgraded plant at Cwellyn reservoir will safeguard drinking water quality for 70,000 customers in the Caernarfon area.
