Converted Organics to Develop Self-Powered Wastewater Unit

Converted Organics has signed a letter of intent with Spirit Services, based in Maryland, US, for the development of an industrial wastewater treatment facility in Virginia.

Massachusetts-based Converted Organics, along with the environmental recycling company, will develop a self-powered industrial wastewater treatment complex using concentrator technology.

The plant will run on recovered waste oil and fuels, biodiesel or natural gas-fuelled engines, and the waste heat generated by the engines will be used to power the concentrator for the evaporation and zero liquid discharge of wastewater.

The concentrator technology is said to provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional industrial wastewater treatment technology.
