Suez Environment Wins Spanish Water Contract

Suez Environment has secured a contract worth €980m ($1.2bn) for the distribution of drinking water in the city of Calvià, Mallorca, Spain.

France-based Suez Environment signed the 50-year concession contract with the municipality of Calvià through its subsidiary Agbar to distribute drinking water in the coastal city.

Agbar will supply drinking water to 52,000 residents and will manage the fluctuations in water consumption the city experiences during the summer when its population almost triples.

Agbar also supplies drinking water to 23 municipalities in the Balearic Islands.
