ADB Awards Water Study Contract to KBR

Asian Development Bank has awarded a contract to US-based engineering group KBR to prepare a national sanitation plan for the Samoan capital of Apia.

The contract includes the preparation of a national sanitation master plan, a draft land-use plan for Apia and a Greater Apia integrated water supply, sanitation and drainage master plan.

The plans will recommend upgrades to the existing water infrastructure, as well as new infrastructure, flood mitigation works and a water-demand management programme.

The project will focus on providing a secure and efficient water supply and wastewater management in the country.
