Global Water Recycling and Reuse Technology to Reach $57bn

The global market for water recycling and reuse technologies will reach $57bn by 2015, led by increasing demand for water due to population growth and agriculture needs, according to a study by SBI Energy.

The market is expected to see an annual growth of 16%, the report revealed.

Demand will be driven by increased water needs, depletion of water resources, public awareness about water-conservation products, government incentives and decreased implementation costs.

The study said the membrane-based filtration systems sector of water recycling and reuse will be the prime driver of the market and is projected to grow to $38bn by 2015, according to renewableenergyworld.com.
