US County Breaks Ground on Wastewater Plant

Emmons County, US, has broken ground on a $28m water treatment facility in Linton, North Dakota, which will provide drinking water in the South Central Regional district.

The project received $21m worth of federal grants from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and over $7m in federal loans from the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development Agency.

The water treatment project will increase the quantity and quality of potable water for Emmons, Logan and McIntosh counties.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2012, according to The Associated Press.
