US Unveils Rural Water Funding

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced funding for 89 rural water projects to improve water quality and sanitation in 32 US states as well as for the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico.

The department said that $445.3m was set aside for the US rural water projects through the Recovery Act.

The projects include two in the state of Maryland, which will be set up with an investment of $20m.

So far the USDA has announced $3.26bn funding through the Recovery Act for 884 water and environmental projects across the US.
