Saudi Arabia Floats Water Supply Contract

Saudi Arabia has launched two tenders worth SAR3.75bn ($997m) to lay water transmission systems on the Yanbu Madinah water transmission system.

The first phase of the project includes construction of 184.7km of a 76in-wide pipeline, 16.8km of a 48in pipeline, 56.9km of a 36in pipeline, 2.7km of a 60in pipeline, 1.3km of a 24in pipeline and 15.4km of a 24in pipeline.

The second project comprises construction of two feeder lines: the 93.8km Madinah Hanakiyah feeder line and the 316.8km Madinah Mahd feeder line.

It also includes the construction, supply and installation of all equipment for four pumping stations and the power supply, as well as control and communications systems for the entire project, according to steelguru.com.
