Veolia Awarded Oman Water Contract

Veolia Water has secured a RO16.82m ($43.5m) contract from the Public Authority for Electricity and Water of Oman to provide water related services in the country.

Under the five-year contract, Veolia will make water supply more efficient and support strategies to supply unserved or underserved areas of the country.

The company will manage small-scale desalination plants serving rural communities, water transmission networks and numerous distribution schemes.

It will also take responsibility Oman’s water infrastructure, which includes reservoirs, storage tanks, well-field systems, pumping stations, and related assets.

Oman plans to invest RO700m ($1.8bn) over the five years in new water projects and the expansion of existing ones, according to zawya.com.
