Ghana Plans Sanitation Investment

Ghana has unveiled plans to invest $150m annually in the sanitation sector over the next five years to increase sanitation coverage in the country on its way to achieve its UN Millennium Development Goal (MGD).

The West African country also plans to invest $200m in water and sanitation annually for the next five years, starting from 2011.

The Ghanian Government will earmark 0.5% of its GDP for hygiene behavioural changes.

The country launched its Sanitation and Water for All plan and aims to achieve the MGD with additional investment in the sector, according to ghanabusinessnews.com.
