ADS and BaySaver form JV to provide stormwater treatment services

Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS), a corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe producer, has established a joint venture (JV) with BaySaver Technologies, to focus on stormwater treatment services in the US.

The JV will be based in Mount Airy, Maryland and will engage in providing stormwater filtration and separation technologies.

ADS said the JV, in which it owns a controlling interest, will help complete the company’s offering in the stormwater treatment segment.

BaySaver president Tom Pank said that the company’s goal is to design and manufacture products that are in line with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and local stormwater quality standards.

"This strategic partnership maximizes the strengths of both companies; the strong research, development and technical approvals of BaySaver coupled with the industry-leading engineering, sales and distribution of ADS," he said.

ADS storm and sanitary markets vice president Ron Vitarelli said that the latest EPA requirements imposed on municipal stormwater systems have generated the need for a more complete stormwater treatment methodology.

"As a solutions-based manufacturer we are asked to provide a ‘treatment train’ approach to owners and specifiers," he said.

"The BaySaver product line rounds out the ADS stormwater product offering."

The latest agreement follows an exclusive marketing agreement signed between ADS and BaySaver in 2008. Under the agreement, ADS was given the rights to sell the BaySeparator and BayFilter units, which separate and filter pollution from storm water runoff.
