Agilent, BIO5 to develop contamination detection methods

Agilent Technologies is to work in collaboration with the University of Arizona’s Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering’s BIO5 Institute to develop ways of detecting and treating emerging contaminants in drinking water.

Agilent will provide the university and the institute with detection equipment, which includes technology that enables the development of chemical signatures unique to a particular water source, reports gizmag.com.

The partnership with Agilent allows the university to influence water reuse and desalination strategies more effectively.

The research will be carried out at the BIO5 Institute on the University of Arizona campus.
