Aquatech acquires Fluid Recovery Services in the US

US-based water purification technology and services company Aquatech has announced its acquisition of Fluid Recovery Services (FRS), a company that offers water management technology and expertise to the oil and gas industry.

FRS operates a network of central, satellite and mobile facilities to deliver water management services that are environmentally compliant and economical.

The company also offers a number of water management service options, such as storage, transport services and disposal across the state.

The acquisition is expected to immediately expand FRS’ network from three to five central water management facilities located in Franklin, Josephine, Creekside, Rouseville and Tioga, and set up an end-to-end network for oil and gas producers in the Marcellus and Utica Shale region.

FRS’ water treatment solutions include Aquatech’s MoSuite, which is a synergistic combination of MoTreat, MoVap and crystallisation technologies.

The MoSuite treats drill fluids, hydraulic fracturing flowback and numerous other oil and gas wastewaters, including safe disposal of high total dissolved solids production brine.

Aquatech CEO and president Venkee Sharma said the company’s goal is to lead in oil and gas water management.

Aquatech helps local water resources from shale gas exploration by treating the water to be reused, reduce total dissolved salts, and create reusable dewasted purified distillate, or clean distillate suitable for discharge as per established national Pollutant Discharge Elimination System standards.

Aquatech Energy Services vice president and general manager Devesh Mittal said the company delivers safe and reliable water management to the energy industry.

"Through FRS, our solutions deliver value to a broad spectrum of stakeholders by promoting safe development of unconventional gas in the Marcellus and Utica Shale, and the conventional oil & gas industry in Pennsylvania," Mittal added.
