NATS develops new systems for radiation analysis of seawater

North American Technical Services (NATS), a provider of radiation detection services, together with its technical partners, has introduced new systems for radiation monitoring of seawater.

The products will enable on-line, real-time monitoring, in-situ spectroscopy, and laboratory analysis of seawater.

NATS offers three major categories of systems in marine and seawater monitoring of radiation applications – Remote-Real Time On Line Measurement Systems, Submersible In-Spectroscopy systems and Laboratory Systems.

NATS’ Remote-Real Time On Line Measurement Systems enable on-line, real time remote monitoring of gamma radiation in seawater with the help of spectroscopy and gross monitoring, with data transmitted based on fiber optics, VSAT, GPRS, Wireless, or WLAN/TCPIP protocols.

A second type of online remote monitoring of seawater for gamma radiation also uses gamma spectroscopy detectors, and allows remote command and control of sensors with data transmission based on TCPIP protocol.

The third type of online monitoring system for water can be used at supply station at water inlet, and does not require remote sensors for gamma and alpha and beta radiation.

NATS’ IN-SITU Deep water Spectroscopy & Inspection Systems feature deep water High Resolution Germanium Detector-based Gamma Spectrometer that are designed to detect and analyse gamma radionucldes in deep seawater.

The Laboratory Systems for Secondary Analysis of Water include systems for all types of radiation analysis of marine or seawater samples.

These include four types of Laboratory Grade Systems – Systems for Gamma Spectroscopic Analysis of Seawater, Systems Liquid Scintillation Counter, Alpha Spectroscopy Systems, and Low Level alpha Beta counting of seawater.

NATS currently offers instruments and systems for use in different aspects of nuclear radiation detection and analysis, such as nuclear spectroscopy, radiation dosimetry, health physics, environmental analysis, and in medical applications.
