Quest Water Global receives first community drinking water station order

Water technology company Quest Water Global has received the first purchase order for its AQUAtap community drinking water stations.

The 15-unit $1.8m order is the initial purchase of a minimum of 150 AQUAtap systems to be marketed independently by the company’s Angolan partner Nurcil Trading – Comércio e Indústria (NTCI). The units will be built in Mexico and shipped to Angola.

Quest Water Global CEO and president John Balanko said: "We have seen interest in our technology build in Angola over the past two years, and having NTCI demonstrate acceptance of our product with this significant purchase further establishes our presence as we move toward finalising an agreement with the Angolan government."

The agreement with the Angolan Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Energy & Water would see AQUAtap systems installed in rural communities throughout the country under its Water for All programme.

Following the completion of the agreement, Quest Water will build an AQUAtap fabrication and assembly facility in the Viana Industrial Park, 30km east of Angola’s capital of Luanda.

NTCI general manager Nordinali Mamade said that AQUAtap is the ideal clean drinking water technology to meet the infrastructure requirements and demands of the Angolan countryside.

"After 30 years of civil war, Angola has been left with an inadequate public water system, particularly in remote and rural locations," Mamade said.
