Sever Trent extends waste water maintenance contract with Amey in UK

UK based water firm Sever Trent has extended its waste water contract with Amey to upgrade its sewer network.

The £250m contract extension will start from June this year and last till March 2021.

Under the deal, Amey will be responsible for repairing and maintenance of Severn Trent’s sewer network.

The original waste water contract is titled as Sewerage Commercial Model (SCM) and had been awarded to Amey in 2011. The contract entitled the firm to serve for one of the three areas which stretched from mid-Wales to Rutland and from the Bristol Channel to the Humber in the UK.

Amey CEO Mel Ewell said: "Amey has been working with Severn Trent Water since 1997 and this contract extension is a testament to the quality of service we have been providing.

"Delivering an excellent customer experience is at the heart of the work we do, an ethos we share with Severn Trent, and through this larger contract we will be able to deliver an even better value service to their customers."

Severn Trent Water wholesale operations leader Pete Collins said: "It will provide us with a great platform to deliver an outstanding customer experience across the Severn Trent region."
