EC Harris to streamline Welsh Water services

Welsh Water has re-appointed global built asset consultancy EC Harris to provide cost and management efficiency services for its customers.

EC Harris plans to streamline the current core service delivery and provide more value add through added service offerings. It also aims to utilise the wider ARCADIS group to share best practice, bringing knowledge forums, innovation and learning.

Three years ago, EC Harris was appointed by Welsh Water to handle its AMP5 Framework. Since then, the company has worked with one other commercial and project management provider and in the process of renewing, has now been awarded the extended contract.

The £120m-a-year programme will see EC Harris use its position as an ARCADIS company and its global network to expose Welsh Water to its wider capability and expertise in the water industry.

EC Harris currently provides commercial and project management across Welsh Water’s capital programme.

EC Harris UK head of water Terry Povall said that having worked with Welsh Water for the past 19 years, the company is well placed to help the organisation sustain both quality and efficiency.

"We’ll be looking to achieve this by ensuring the efficiency of staff within areas of commercial and project management, enabling more focus on supporting Welsh Water to deliver regulatory outcomes," Povall added.
