Regional water authority deploys Sedaru software in Connecticut, US

South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) in the US has selected water software and service provider IDModeling’s software Sedaru in order to optimise its system operations.

Sedaru is the smart water enterprise software which uses real-time analytics to integrate and connect organisational data, systems, and users across the water/wastewater enterprise.

The solution enables creation and distribution of hydraulic, asset and operational intelligence which enables utilities to predict operational fluctuations, understand their impacts and take measures to solve problems related to outage, energy, quality, water resource and asset management.

IDModeling CEO Paul Hauffen said: "We’re excited to apply Sedaru’s predictive analytics to the RWA’s system to validate energy and cost savings."

The Connecticut-based authority has the capacity to produce 45 millions of gallons per day (MGD) of water, which serves nearly 430,000 US citizens across multiple cities and towns.

Sedaru is expected to help RWA in interaction and application of real-time data from SCADA and other telemetry and displays alarms and notifications through an operator-friendly user interface.

The solution allows ease of use and help operators to carry out energy cost calculations under fluctuating operating conditions on the basis of both real-time and modelled data.

RWA Distribution and Operations director Tony Delvecchio said: "Sedaru’s practical, utility-focused approach was a key factor in our selection.

"The Sedaru software is intuitive enough for our operators, and powerful enough to help improve our bottom line."

In November, Western Municipal Water District (WMWD) in California had also deployed the technology platform across its water, sewer, and recycled water systems to strengthen its infrastructure and information systems.
