Veolia secures contract extensions in north-west US

Environmental solutions and maximum resource management provider Veolia has completed contract renewals with four of its major clients in the north-west US.

The four clients that extended their contract periods with Veolia North America are the city of Cle Elum, and Bellevue’s Cascade Water Alliance in Washington, and National Parks Service and the city of Great Falls in Montana. The contract extensions span periods between one and ten years.

Veolia North America president and CEO William J DiCroce said: "We’re very proud of our service to these clients and appreciate the votes of confidence they each have given to our company and our staff through these renewals and scope expansions.

"We have a renewal rate of nearly 97%, which is a testament to the quality of service and the value that we provide communities across North America."

Cle Elum renewed contract for ten years, while Cascade Water Alliance and Great Falls extended for five years, and National Parks Service for 12 months.

With a wastewater contract renewal, Veolia will continue to operate and maintain the 3.6 million gallons per day (Mgd) sequencing batch reactor facility for Cle Elum city. Cle Elum has also entered a new partnership with Veolia through a ten-year contract for water operations that will see the company operating the 4Mgd surface water facility.

For Cascade Water Alliance, Veolia operates a diversion dam on the White River, along with maintaining the water levels in a 15 billion gallon reservoir.

It also surveys weeds in the water, maintains plantings according to demand of the regulatory agencies, as well as repairs dams and roads.

The contract extension with the National Parks Service includes a 64Mgd sediment removal project for Elwha River Dam, while Veolia will continue operating a 15Mgd wastewater treatment plant and 27 pump stations in Great Falls city for another five years.
