Nigeria Awards $35m Irrigation Deal

The Nigerian Government has awarded a N5.41bn ($35m) contract to construction company Dantata & Sawoe to expand the Watari Irrigation project in the state of Kano State, Bagwai.

The irrigation project, which is located 65km south-west of the city of Kano, has eight sectors, out of which six have been developed.

Under the contract, the Nigerian company will carry out the sixth and seventh sectors.

The project is expected to be completed within two years.
