PAEW begins $181m water projects in Oman

The Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) has started work on water projects worth OMR70m ($181m) in the Al Dakhiliyah region of Oman.

The projects involve developing water distribution networks, tanks, pumping plants and tanker filling stations, and expanding desalination plants, according to the Oman Tribune.

PAEW will expand the water desalination plant in Qarn Alam to increase its production capacity to 22,000gal.

The water utility will also implement a water network project in the districts of Sumail and Bahla, which includes the construction of water tanks, a pumping plant and administrative buildings, as well as a monitoring and controlling unit and water sterilisation systems.

At the city of Owaifia, PAEW will build an integrated water desalination plant with a production capacity of 44,000gal per day.
