US State Approves Funding for Nine Water Projects

The US state of Georgia has approved funding worth $86m for nine water and sewer projects to improve its water supplies.

The funding will finance the water and sewer infrastructure of the cities of Atlanta, Clayton, Cornelia and LaFayette, Bryan County, Carroll County Water Authority, Cobb County and Lumpkin County.

Georgia Environmental Finance Authority is also arranging additional funding through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) for the improvement of Georgia’s water infrastructure.

Atlanta will get a $40m loan through CWSRF and a Georgia Fund Loan of $3m to finance a new sewer line and sewer rehabilitation.

Cobb County will get a CWSRF loan of $25m to finance phase IV of a multiphase project to rehabilitate the South Cobb Water Reclamation Facility.
