Fluence launches SmartAerator Tornado for wastewater treatment facilities

Fluence Corporation Limited, a provider of water and wastewater treatment solutions, has launched its SmartAerator Tornado that offers up to 50% annual energy savings to wastewater treatment facilities.

The SmartAerator Tornado not only automatically regulates aeration levels but also remotely monitors the wastewater processing performance of the Tornado aerator.

This technology is a system of controls, sensors and variable frequency drives to reduce the amount of energy needed to aerate wastewater.

Designed for the Tornado aerator, this technology is sold as a retrofit kit or with new aerators.

It is meant for projects that need large horsepower aerators or those with multiple aerators.

Fluence USA general manager Nii Mensah said: “The anticipated payback period for a typical SmartAerator installation is about two years for projects with several, high-horsepower Tornados working on site.”

SmartAerator is equipped with a dashboard for tracking and reporting aerator performance, monitoring the aeration process and transmitting wastewater analytics to supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and mobile devices.

It offers samples of oxygen levels in wastewater and other process parameters whilst regulating aeration intensity.
