In-Situ acquires Australia-based flow metre producer MACE

US-based water monitoring instrumentation manufacturer In-Situ has acquired the complete operations of  Australia-based flow metre producer Measuring and Control Equipment (MACE).

Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

In-Situ chief executive officer John Pawlikowski said: “Both companies recognise the importance of flow measurement and water monitoring in the global environment, and together we can expand our abilities to help measure and protect water resources around the world.

"Additionally, the seamless integration of MACE instruments and technologies with In-Situ’s cloud-based HydroVu Data Services platform provides a robust remote monitoring solution that is second-to-none in our industry.”

MACE designs and manufactures ultrasonic flow metres, data loggers and controllers.

These products provide flow, total volume, level and velocity data in open channels and closed pipes, for industrial, wastewater, agriculture and environmental markets.

This deal enables In-Situ to expand into flow monitoring from its existing surface water portfolio.

With this acquisition, In-Situ can provide both groundwater and surface water solutions.

Further, its current line of telemetry and data management solutions is bolstered by MACE’s remote monitoring system.

While these products complement In-Situ's existing product portfolio and strengthen its global marketing, distribution and sales capabilities, MACE intends to leverage In-Situ’s manufacturing, R&D, administration and lean manufacturing skill capabilities.

In-Situ designs, manufactures and rents water level and water quality instrumentation and water monitoring equipment for groundwater, surface water and coastal waters.
