UV disinfection lamp manufacturer Alpha-Purify is delighted to be exhibiting at the prestigious SeaAsia event in April 2019.
SeaAsia is Asia’s premier maritime and offshore event and is being held in Singapore, the leading maritime capital of the world. Over 15,000 international visitors and around 450 exhibitors are expected at SeaAsia, and Alpha-Purify’s representatives will be keen to demonstrate the company’s market-leading medium-pressure UV disinfection lamps to interested parties.
Singapore is also a highly strategic location for Alpha-Purify, giving staff the chance to meet with existing and potential customers from the global marine industry. Potable Water
UV disinfection is used for the treatment of drinking water on board a range of vessels to help ensure the water supply is free from harmful pathogens both during storage and when it is supplied.
Waste Water
There are regulations for the discharge of ships wastewater into oceans and seas to ensure it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals or pathogens. UV disinfection is a useful tool to treat grey and black water (different types of wastewater) before it is discharged from a ship.
Recreational Water
Swimming pools and spas on cruise ships are increasingly fitted with UV disinfection systems to protect swimmers from waterborne pathogens. There has been an increase in the instance of microbes developing resistance to chlorine and filtration, but UV remains an effective tool in disabling
Ballast Water
The implementation of an international convention regulating ballast water treatment in late 2017 has triggered an uptick in the numbers of ship owners and builders seeking ballast water treatment solutions. UV systems alter or inactivate the DNA of microorganisms, preventing invasive species that may be picked up in ballast water from damaging fragile ecosystems in foreign ports.
The global ballast water treatment market is set to witness a CAGR of 29.4% during 2018-24. Asia Pacific accounted for the largest share of the market in 2017, while growing at the fastest CAGR over the next seven years.
