Dubai implements Hatta water distribution pipeline project

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has completed 78% of the new AED30m ($8.1m) 30km water distribution pipeline project in Hatta, 115km from Dubai, UAE.

The project was launched by DEWA in June 2013 to increase efficiency and reliability of water systems.

DEWA MD and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said that the project’s primary objective is to address the rapid growth in the city.

"DEWA will initiate the extension of the water distribution networks in diameters ranging from 450mm to 100mm, bringing the total length of lines in Hatta to 32km," Al Tayer added.

"The implementation of the project will be in accordance with the outlined programme and is expected to be completed within four months. DEWA is currently implementing development projects, particularly in infrastructure, to achieve the expectations of its customers to the highest standards of availability, reliability, efficiency, and safety."
