China Everbright Water wins phase two of Ji’nan Xike WWT Project

China Everbright Water has announced that it has won the tender for the phase two of the Plant 4 of Ji’nan Xike Waste Water Treatment Project (Ji’nan Xike WWT Project).

Also known as Everbright Water, the company is an environmental protection company specialising in the supply of integrated clean water services.

The growing population in West Ji’nan has increased the issue of domestic wastewater faced by the residents of the area.

Ji’nan municipal government has asked eligible bidders to bid for the second phase of the project to address the issue and meet the needs of locals.

China Everbright Water won the tender, obtaining the highest rank in the overall score rating.

The second phase has a designed daily wastewater treatment capacity of 70,000m³.

The project will be built on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) system.

The total investment required for Phase II will reach around RMB240m ($40m) and the discharge of water will be carried out in compliance with the national Grade 1A standard.

Everbright Water executive director and chairman Wang Tianyi said: "Everbright Water set foot in Shandong Province’s environmental protection industry as early as 2007.

"Currently, the total designed capacity of wastewater treatment projects invested and operated by Everbright Water in Ji’nan reaches 880,000m³ per day, which represents more than 90% of the total wastewater volume in the city.

"Cooperating once again with the Ji’nan Municipal Government is of great significance to the company’s plans to expand and strengthen our foothold in Ji’nan, as well as in Shandong Province."

The phase one of the Ji’nan Xike Waste Water Treatment Project 9 is near the railway station of West Ji’nan and has now attained its complete operational capacity.
