WaterSmart Software launches WaterSmart Essential for small utilities in US

WaterSmart Software, a water utility customer engagement platform provider based in San Francisco, the US, has launched its new platform WaterSmart Essential.

WaterSmart Essential is the latest version of its platform designed particularly for small water utilities as most of the country’s water utilities are rural suppliers, municipal agencies and regional cooperatives which serve small areas and have limited budgets.

The new platform provides mobile and web communications, and analytics platform at affordable prices.

WaterSmart CEO Robin Gilthorpe said: "Based on our work with more than fifty utilities across the country, we developed WaterSmart Essential to deliver the perfect communications and analytics solution for smaller utilities.

WaterSmart Essential offers a host of analytic tools to assist the small units in gaining a better understanding of customer consumption patterns, detecting possible leaks at customer site and identifying any anomalies in metre reading.

The software also provides personalised and timely usage information, critical system notifications and water saving suggestions through web, mobile, voice and text.

Idaho public works director for the city of Ketchum Robyn Mattison said: "The WaterSmart Essential platform has been a wonderful companion to our set of customer outreach and engagement strategies.

The company claims that the platform is ideal for utilities that have less than 7,500 customer accounts.
