ESB to Fund Croatian Water Projects

Erste & Steiermaerkische Bank (ESB), part of Austria’s Erste Group, is to lend HRK1.3bn ($234m) to water management company Hrvatske Vode to carry out improvements in Croatia.

The loan will fund water projects to be carried out by the Croatian Government.

The capital investment will improve the country’s damaged water infrastructure, water supplies and wastewater treatment.

The loan has been extended for eight years and the Croatian Government has issued a state guarantee to the water company to borrow the money.
