LG Unveils MBR Wastewater Treatment Process

Marking its entry into the water industry LG Electronics has unveiled its first wastewater treatment solution, the Green Membrane Bioreactor (G-MBR).

The G-MBR uses a slimmer flat-type microfiltration membrane module and claims to require 34% less space than conventional G-MBRs, making it more efficient and easier to install.

According to LG, the G-MBR is resistant to contamination and fouling, which ensures a longer lifespan for the membrane, thereby reducing maintenance costs.

LG is to invest $400m in its water business in the next decade and to generate $7bn in revenue by 2020.
