CAF to Fund Water and Sanitation Project in Panama

The Andean Development Corporation (CAF) will provide $100m for water and sanitation projects in Panama.

The loan will be given to Panama’s state-owned water and sanitation utility Idaan to improve access to potable water and sewage services.

The national government of Panama will also invest $125m as counterpart funding for the programme.

The project aims to guarantee potable water to 1.8 million residents in Panama City and seven other districts. It will also modernise and improve Idaan’s institutional capacity, according to waterworld.com.
