Dubai Starts Al Ghafat Reservoir Project

Dubai has started construction of two reservoir projects, which will add 120 million gallons of desalinated water to the emirate’s strategic water reserves.

The Al Ghafat reservoirs project will be completed in two phases, costing a total of AED285m ($78m).

The project includes the construction, testing and launch of two reinforced concrete reservoirs, each with a capacity of 60 million gallons, and the interconnection of pipelines to existing pipelines.

These reservoirs will increase Dubai’s storage capacity to up to 669 million gallons within two years.
