Conagua to Complete Nogales Wastewater Plant by Early 2012

Mexico’s national water authority Conagua aims to complete a $19m wastewater treatment plant in Nogales, in the state of Sonora, by February 2012.

The project is being funded jointly by Conagua and the Sonora State Government.

The plant will be operated by state water utility Oomapas and will have a capacity of 220l per second in its first stage and an additional 110l per second in the future, according to waterworld.com.

Work on the project began in July 2010 and is currently 30% complete. The project is being carried out under the state government’s Mex$11bn ($910m) Sonora Si water programme.
