Germany to Fund Tanzanian Water Project

Germany, in collaboration with international development agency FIDA, has offered to extend $55m to Tanzania to fund a water project in the rural district of Moshi, Kilimanjaro.

The funds will be provided by the German Government through its Participatory Economy and Development policy to reduce water shortages in the area.

The project includes laying water supply pipes and the construction of water channels from rivers surrounding the village of Njari.

The project will be carried out by Germany-based construction company Burgerpartnerschaft Eine and is intended to ensure a consistent supply of water in targeted areas within the district, according to ippmedia.com.
