Desalitech Awarded EPT Reverse Osmosis Contract

Desalitech has won a contract to design and build a reverse osmosis (RO) desalination system for Environmental Protection Technologies (EPT) in Israel.

The 600m³ per day brackish water RO system features Desalitech’s closed circuit desalination (CCD) technology, which can desalinate brackish well water with dissolved solids of up to 3,500ppm.

At 90% recovery and an energy consumption level of 0.65kWh per cubic metre of permeate, the system can supply drinking water for the Dead Sea Works industrial compound, according to desalination.biz.

The CCD process uses RO equipment to reduce the cost of clean water production from sea, brackish, surface and ground water, as well as industrial water sources.
