Cesan to Improve Brazil’s Sewerage Services

Brazil-based water company Cesan will provide R$108m ($69m) to improve sewerage services in Vitoria, the capital of Espirito Santo.

Vitoria will receive R$26.5m ($16.8m), of which R$23.6m ($15m) will be used to update the sanitation system at Praia do Canto beach and to install a sewerage system for the downtown area and Jucutuquara.

Guarapari will receive R$28.6m ($18.2m), of which R$22.3m ($14.2m) will be used for the construction of a sewerage system in the downtown area.

A Cesan spokesperson told bnamericas.com that seven cities will benefit from the allocated funding.

Cesan serves 52 municipalities, providing sewerage services to 983,500 residents and potable water to 2.3 million people.
