Femsa to Protect Water Resources in Latin America

A new Latin American Water Fund Alliance has been launched by Mexican beverage company Femsa in a bid to protect water resources in the region.

The alliance plans to set up 32 funds over the next five years with an initial investment of $27m.

Funds are planned to be established in in Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Mexico, reports Business News Americas.

The finance will be used to develop projects to conserve 3Mha of water basins, which is expected to benefit approximately 50 million people, the company said.
