Purifics to Decontaminate Lockheed Martin Facility

Purifics ES will supply its groundwater purification system to Lockheed Martin to purify contaminated groundwater at the former American Beryllium facility in Sarasota, Florida, US.

The facility’s groundwater has been contaminated with volatile organic solvents including 1,4-dioxane.

Purifics will use its photocatalytic ceramic membrane treatment process to remove metals, such as iron and aluminium, and destroy the chemicals contained in the groundwater, which was pumped from 80 extraction wells.

The system is capable of treating close to 500,000 gallons of contaminated groundwater per day.
