VWS Westgarth to provide SRP system to SBM Offshore

UK-based VWS Westgarth has won a contract from SBM Offshore to create a specialist water treatment system to remove sulphates from water during the oil-extracting process.

Under the one-year contract, VWS Westgarth, will design, equip and support a single lift module seawater sulphate reduction package (SRP) system, reports business7.co.uk.

The SRP system will remove sulphates that can create scaling from injection water to enhance oil recovery.

The SRP system will be supplied to the Xikomba floating production, storage and offloading vessel when it is moved to new moorings in block 15, offshore Angola.
