OWRB approves loan for Oklahoma water treatment facility

The Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) has approved $74m in low-interest loans to finance the city of Broken Arrow’s water treatment facility on the Verdigris River in Oklahoma, US.

OWRB’s chief of financial assistance division Joe Freeman said that the loan will be coupled with $1.3m in local funds to finance the Broken Arrow water projects.

The plant, which will be located on the south bank of the Verdigris River, will pump water from the Grand Lake system and supply drinking water to the Broken Arrow area.

Broken Arrow City manager Dave Wooden said that the plant will improve the city’s supply and quality of water through its advanced treatment processes.
