Bolivia Plans Funds for Water and Sanitation Projects

Bolivia has earmarked $58m to spend on drinking water and sewerage projects this year.

The money will be spent over 160 projects to improve water supply and sewage systems in the country.

The project work includes expansion of sewage systems, drinking-water plants and reservoirs.

Funding for the project has been received from the Andean Development Corporation, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, German cooperation agency GTZ and development bank KfW.

The governments of Spain, Canada, Sweden, Venezuela and the Netherlands will also fund the project, according to BNamericas.com.

International community has committed $580m of funding for water resource development in Bolivia up to 2015.
