EBRD Funds Croatian Water Treatment Plant

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide an €11m ($13m) loan to Sisacki Vodovod to part-finance the upgrade and expansion of the existing wastewater and sewage network and the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Sisak, Croatia.

The project will also help reduce the pollution of the Kupa and Sava rivers and the Danube river basin.

Sisacki Vodovod is the municipal water company servicing the city of Sisak and the surrounding towns and villages.

The project is supported by an additional grant from the governments of Netherlands and Italy to prepare a feasibility study and enhance Sisacki Vodovod’s operational performance.
